About Pokemon Unbound
Pokémon Unbound is a fan-made GBA RPG created by Skeli, developed as a large-scale expansion of Pokémon FireRed with a completely new region, story, and gameplay improvements. The game takes place in the Borrius Region, a land shaped by an ancient war where mysterious forces and forgotten legends begin to affect the present day. Players take the role of a young Pokémon Trainer who travels across the region, discovers hidden secrets, challenges powerful trainers, and becomes involved in a conflict that goes far beyond a traditional Gym challenge.
First released in 2020 and continuing to receive updates, Pokémon Unbound was developed specifically for the Game Boy Advance platform. The latest major version, v2.1.1.1, was released in 2022, adding further improvements, fixes, and expanded content to the adventure. Unlike a typical ROM hack that only changes the original story, Unbound introduces a custom world, original characters, a mission system, multiple difficulty options, and many modern Pokémon mechanics while keeping the classic GBA presentation.
The adventure combines traditional turn-based Pokémon battles with a much larger exploration experience. Players can capture Pokémon from different generations, complete optional missions, solve puzzles, discover hidden areas, and build teams suited for different challenges. How To Play
