About WWF Royal Rumble

WWF Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling game released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Developed by LJN and Acclaim Entertainment with development support from Sculptured Software, it is based on the famous WWF Royal Rumble match and brings one of professional wrestling's most chaotic events to home consoles.

The game features a roster of popular WWF Superstars from the early 1990s, including Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, and other recognizable wrestlers from the era. Players can choose their favorite superstar and compete in different match types, using strikes, grapples, and signature moves to overpower their opponents.

The biggest highlight of WWF Royal Rumble is its namesake Royal Rumble match, where multiple wrestlers enter the ring and battle at the same time. Instead of focusing only on pinfalls, players must throw opponents over the top rope to eliminate them, creating a fast-changing match where alliances can form and disappear within seconds.

The SNES version adds a strong arcade-style wrestling experience with colorful visuals, large character sprites, and support for multiple wrestlers on screen. It also includes different match options such as one-on-one battles, tag team matches, and the Royal Rumble mode, giving players several ways to experience classic WWF action.

You can play WWF Royal Rumble online on Emulator Games Zone using the SNES Emulator. Jump into the ring directly from your browser and experience the fast-paced chaos of one of WWF's most memorable match formats on the classic 16-bit console.

How To Play

Choose a WWF Superstar and compete in traditional wrestling matches or the special Royal Rumble mode. The basic gameplay focuses on using punches, kicks, grapples, and powerful moves to weaken opponents before going for the final victory.

The Royal Rumble match changes the usual wrestling formula. Multiple wrestlers enter the ring one by one, and the goal is not to score a pinfall but to eliminate opponents by throwing them over the top rope. Players need to watch several wrestlers at once, avoid being surrounded, and look for the right moment to eliminate rivals.

Each superstar has different strengths, movement speed, and signature attacks. Powerful wrestlers can dominate close-range fights, while faster characters may have an easier time avoiding dangerous situations. Learning when to attack, defend, and recover becomes especially important when several opponents are active at the same time.

The SNES version also includes match types such as singles and tag team contests, allowing players to enjoy more traditional wrestling battles alongside the unique Royal Rumble mode. Compared with earlier WWF games on Nintendo consoles, this version stands out by introducing larger multi-wrestler matches and capturing the unpredictable feeling of a real Royal Rumble event.
