About Grand Theft Auto Advance

Grand Theft Auto Advance is an action adventure game released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Rockstar Games, it brings the classic open-world crime gameplay of the Grand Theft Auto series to a handheld platform. Unlike the later 3D entries in the franchise, this game returns to the top-down perspective used by the early Grand Theft Auto titles, combining driving, exploration, combat, and mission-based gameplay in a portable format.

The story takes place in Liberty City, the same fictional city featured in Grand Theft Auto III, but the events happen before that game’s storyline. Players control Mike, a small-time criminal who becomes involved in a dangerous search for the truth after his partner Vinnie is killed. During his journey, Mike works with different criminals, faces rival gangs, and completes various jobs while becoming deeper involved in Liberty City’s underground world.

You can play Grand Theft Auto Advance online on Emulator Games Zone using a GBA Emulator and experience this handheld crime adventure directly in your browser. The Game Boy Advance version adapts the classic GTA formula with a top-down camera, compact city design, and missions created specifically for shorter portable sessions. It introduces a new story, new characters, and a different way to explore Liberty City compared with the console and PC games.

This version focuses on fast-paced missions, vehicle exploration, and street-level action. Players can steal cars, use different weapons, complete jobs for various characters, and explore the city while avoiding police attention. The game also adds side activities and vehicle-based missions, giving players more ways to interact with Liberty City beyond the main storyline.

How To Play

Players control Mike as they move through Liberty City, accepting missions from different contacts and completing tasks to progress through the story. Missions include stealing vehicles, delivering items, fighting enemies, escaping police, and taking on criminal jobs across the city.

The GBA version uses simple handheld controls for movement, driving, and combat. Players can enter a variety of vehicles and travel between different areas of Liberty City while searching for mission locations. Driving plays an important role, as many objectives require quick escapes, reaching destinations within a time limit, or navigating through crowded streets.

Combat allows players to use different weapons when dealing with enemies or rival gangs. Players need to manage their health, choose when to fight, and avoid attracting too much attention from law enforcement. The wanted system adds extra pressure when causing trouble in the city.

Compared with earlier top-down Grand Theft Auto games, this version adds features from later entries while keeping the classic viewpoint. Players can experience vehicle missions, additional side activities, and a new storyline while exploring a smaller but detailed version of Liberty City. The GBA version offers a unique handheld take on the series, combining open-world freedom with a more compact mission structure designed for portable gameplay.
