Mario Games started back in 1985 with the release of Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Since then, the series has appeared on almost every major Nintendo platform, including SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Nintendo DS. While the games changed a lot over the years, the basic idea always stayed simple: run, jump, avoid enemies, and find your way through creative levels packed with secrets.
Most classic Mario games are side-scrolling platformers built around movement and timing. Players control Mario through short stages filled with pipes, moving platforms, hidden blocks, coins, and enemies like Goombas and Koopas. One thing that keeps Mario games fun is how easy they are to replay. You might start a quick session just to clear one stage, then suddenly spend the next hour looking for hidden areas, trying risky shortcuts, or replaying difficult castle levels. Even the older handheld entries still feel smooth and responsive today.
